Spring 2012, a rumor: Whole Foods is coming to the old Kroger location in Wakefield. The town was abuzz! After Whole Foods verified that they had no intention of opening “another North Raleigh location,” a group of foodies met that August at Wake Forest Coffee Company to determine if a community cooperative grocery store was a viable solution to the lack of quality, affordable grocery shopping in Wake Forest.
In 2016, the co-op suffered a major setback when Mapleview Dairy’s bottling facility burned. A key revenue source for the organization was lost overnight, putting us in a precarious situation. Since then, the co-op has focused on it’s niche market; providing customers and members with an economical location for high quality bulk dry goods and case goods, at the best possible price.
We are open Monday through Thursday from 10 to 6, and Friday from 10 to 3, at 230 S Main St, Wake Forest, NC 27587. Come in via the one-way S College St, and park at the end of Owen Ave.
